Ah, the balloons have deflated; the flowers are wilting, and I’ve had a little over a week to recover. What now????
I seem to remember uttering these fateful words to my husband, sometime around mid-May, prior to the launch of my latest book, The Web They Wove,
“I think I’ll take a break after this book, maybe take the Summer off..”
He wholeheartedly agreed, “You’ve published 2 books in less than a year Cat, give yourself a break.”
So that was it, I was taking a break. Definitely. Absolutely. Without a shadow of a doubt.
Only….
I miss it 😓
I miss escaping into imaginary worlds that I’ve created.
I miss popping my headphones on and losing myself in character creating, world building and agonising over plot lines.
I miss writing out index cards with plot lines and figuring out where they will go.
I miss the solitude of zoning out of the actual real world and dealing with tricky plot twists or what’s going to happen next.
So, you will be pleased to hear that whilst I won’t be ‘full-time’ writing I will be building at least 2 days a week (possibly 3) into my schedule to crack on with Book 3.
It will, of course, feature Ziggy and his team and they will have a new, complex case to unravel. I already know the beginning and the end, just the tricky middle part to figure out!
So, are you excited? It’s fair to say The Web They Wove was left on a bit of a cliffhanger, so are you desperate to find out what happens?
