Silverstone GP 2017

Oh what a fantastic 4 days we had! It is always the highlight of our year, and this year was exception. We’ve done Silverstone 4 times now, camping twice, hiring a campervan last year and this year we were in a bell tent – for someone who hates camping this was a huge step for me! As it turns out, Silverstone Golf Course (where we stay) totally had it all under control and was superbly well organised.

Once we’d unpacked (minus the kettle – you had one job Skeet!) we headed over to the circuit and began our Silverstone weekend. We’d won pit passes where we met up with Sarah and Stef, and then queued a ridiculous amount of time to see, well very little really but it did give us a prime spot to view the F1 show – where I made it my mission to get kisses from the male presenters!

The weather was what you would expect from a weekend in England. Glorious sunshine one minute and pouring with rain the next. We were prepared though; shorts, t-shirts, cap, brollies and inappropriate shoes!

Much of the weekend wa alcohol fuelled (as you would expect) but watching Lewis Hamilton cross the finish line on pole was the absolute highlight.

We’re not sure if we’re going to do it again next year. Rumour has it that we’re heading to a couple of European races, so watch this space!
